Chiefs' release 5 time Pro Bowl Safety Eric Berry, per ESPN reports. Drafted in 2010 as a first round draft pick, Eric Berry played for the Chiefs for his entire NFL career. Berry's release is part of a restructuring of one of the worst NFL defenses in the NFL 2018-2019 season which has also included the release of linebacker Dee Ford. The frequently injured Berry only played one game in 2017.
Head coach Andy Reid praised Berry,"I'd like to thank Eric for his contributions to our team and the Kansas City community over the last nine years.Seeing his passion and watching his love for the game has been truly remarkable. He's a special person, and we wish him the best as his career moves forward."
